A person with more support behind them
An AI-powered virtual assistant is a remote human professional who uses approved AI tools within a defined business role.
You give them priorities, context and access. They use AI where it helps, check the output, coordinate the next steps and report back. The role can focus on administration, marketing, sales support or operations.
Here, “hybrid” means human + AI working together. Your assistant works remotely; it does not mean a mix of office and remote days. This is a staffing service, with the person’s skills matched to your responsibilities.
The right strengths, in the right place
AI can help prepare the first pass. A capable assistant knows what needs checking, which conversation needs care, and when to bring a decision back to you.
Some well-defined tasks suit automation. Work involving changing priorities, relationships and exceptions often benefits from a person coordinating the whole process. Agree on the review level for each workflow.
| The work | AI is useful for | Human + AI together | The human owns |
|---|---|---|---|
| Research | Summaries, initial findings and comparisons. | A relevant brief with checked sources and clear uncertainties. | Framing the question and deciding what matters. |
| Email & communication | Draft replies and thread summaries. | Clear responses adapted to your customer and context. | Sensitive conversations, commitments and relationship management. |
| Marketing & content | Ideas, outlines and draft variations. | Edited content that follows your brief, facts and brand. | Editorial judgment, accuracy and publishing approvals. |
| Sales support | Meeting briefs and follow-up drafts. | Accurate CRM notes and coordinated next steps. | Reading the situation, building trust and escalating opportunities. |
| Admin & operations | Extracting information and drafting checklists. | Organized tasks with confirmed owners and deadlines. | Priorities, exceptions and follow-through. |
Human-owned responsibilities are operating choices for this service, not claims that AI can never assist with those tasks. Important business decisions remain with the person authorized to make them.
Start with work already on your plate
Choose a focused set of responsibilities. A good brief names the output, the person who approves it, and what “done” means.
Summarize threads, organize agreed labels and prepare draft replies. Escalate urgent, sensitive or unclear messages according to your instructions.
Compare suppliers, prospects or market information. Deliver a concise brief with source links, dates and unresolved questions—not an unchecked list of AI answers.
Work from approved notes or recordings, confirm action items and update your task system. Check names, dates and commitments against the original material.
Prepare outlines, adapt approved material and maintain a content calendar. Editing, factual checks and your publishing rules remain part of the workflow.
Organize records, prepare meeting briefs and maintain follow-up tasks. Define permitted changes, required fields and how duplicates or uncertain information are handled.
Turn your brief into structured drafts, check formatting and prepare a review version. Confirm figures, claims and source material before circulation.
Document recurring work, maintain approved templates and note exceptions. Keep the current version and decision owner clear as processes change.
Run and monitor agreed routines, check handoffs and flag failures. Custom integrations and complex AI agents may require a separate automation specialist.
A hybrid workflow you can picture
Your client meeting ends. The hybrid workflow turns the discussion into a checked action plan, with approval where it matters.
A draft summary and suggested action items from approved meeting notes.
Names, dates, commitments, missing context and the original source.
Approve pricing, promises or other decisions reserved for you.
Update the CRM, coordinate tasks and prepare the agreed follow-up.
Decision needed: Confirm the proposed project scope.
Assistant’s next step: Prepare the follow-up and create the review task.
Open question: The meeting notes do not confirm a delivery date. Ask before promising one.
Done means: Approved next steps recorded, task owner assigned, follow-up prepared.
Tools that fit the work
We define the role around your workflow, then match the person’s experience to the tools involved. These are examples of a possible stack—not a requirement to buy five subscriptions.
Prepare outlines, draft variations and summaries from the material and instructions you approve.
Work through documents, structure a brief and prepare a review draft with a human checking the details.
Keep working drafts, comments and approved handoffs in the documents your team uses.
Organize procedures, project notes and action items in an agreed workspace.
Support approved app-to-app workflows, check handoffs and flag failures within the agreed scope.
Tool access, licenses, integrations and AI features depend on your plans and permissions. Keep accounts under your business’s control. Product names and marks belong to their owners; inclusion does not imply a partnership or endorsement.
Evidence, with the context attached
Research gives a useful reason to test a hybrid workflow. It also shows why task selection, experience and review matter.
A 2025 study in The Quarterly Journal of Economics examined AI assistance among 5,172 customer-support agents at one company. Average productivity, measured as issues resolved per hour, increased by 15%. Effects differed by worker experience and skill; experienced workers saw smaller benefits, and some quality measures declined.
Read Generative AI at Work ↗A 2023 field experiment involving 758 consultants found gains on tasks within the tested AI system’s capabilities. The research describes an uneven frontier: AI can help with some tasks and fall short on others. Its practical lesson for this page is to choose the workflow carefully and check the output.

Choose the level of help
An AI-skilled assistant is useful when recurring work needs both preparation and coordination.
Think founders with a crowded inbox, agencies with content and reporting tasks, sales teams with follow-up administration, or service businesses with loose ends after customer conversations.
Choose the primary function first. AI experience supports that function; it does not automatically make someone a marketer, developer, bookkeeper or licensed adviser.
Runs defined admin, research or coordination tasks using approved AI tools. Checks output, maintains records and follows through.
Owns work requiring marketing, executive support, finance or another domain skill. AI helps within that expertise and agreed scope.
Designs integrations, tests workflows and handles technical failures. Advanced agents or custom systems need a brief that covers development and maintenance.
The first month
Choose a recurring task with accessible source material, a clear output and a decision owner. Record a baseline, such as time spent and the amount of rework.
Confirm tools, access, permitted data, approval points and when the assistant should ask. Start with drafts and review before expanding autonomy.
Review real examples together. Check factual accuracy, completeness, tone and whether the work reached the next person or system.
Compare turnaround, rework and completed handoffs against the baseline. Keep useful steps, change weak ones and expand only when the process is reliable.
Find the person behind the prompts
A practical assessment can use a fictional meeting note, a small research task or a draft with deliberate mistakes. Test the work you will actually delegate.

Before you hire
Talk through the work, the tools and what you want off your plate.
Discuss your role ↗The term can mean either. This Boogie service means a remote human professional who uses approved AI tools to support a defined role. If you need a chatbot, voice agent or custom AI system, discuss a separate technical brief.
Hybrid means human + AI working together. AI helps prepare or process work; a person handles the agreed review, coordination and follow-through. It does not mean the assistant splits time between your office and remote work.
A tool still needs context, instructions and a workflow. A suitable assistant can coordinate the recurring work, check the output and maintain the next steps. If a task is already fully covered by reliable automation, you may not need a person for that task.
Your operating rules decide this. Sensitive conversations, important commitments, exceptions and decisions requiring business authority should have a named human owner. A person remains accountable for their assigned responsibilities; AI can assist without becoming that decision owner.
Yes—define the underlying executive or administrative responsibilities first. Then specify the relevant AI experience, communication, discretion, schedule and tool access. A broad AI label is not a substitute for the core role’s experience.
An appropriately experienced hire can prepare research and content drafts, coordinate a calendar, maintain CRM records and support follow-ups. Strategy, customer conversations, campaign management or specialist work must be explicitly included and matched to proven skills.
Choose tools that fit your workflow and policies. Examples include ChatGPT, Claude, shared documents, Notion and Zapier. Confirm experience with the chosen stack during selection. Licenses, AI features and third-party subscriptions should be agreed separately.
Use your business’s approved tools, accounts and access rules. Specify what material may be shared, what must stay out of AI tools, and when to ask. Privacy settings, retention and contractual requirements depend on the systems and information involved; these should be reviewed before access is granted.
Only if that technical work is included and the person has the necessary experience. Running an approved workflow differs from building and maintaining one. Complex integrations, production agents and ongoing engineering may require an automation specialist or developer.
Pricing depends on the core function, experience, AI skills, hours and responsibility. Request a quote for your workload. Define tool subscriptions, setup work and technical maintenance separately so the full scope is clear.
Discuss your weekly workload, required overlap and meeting schedule with Boogie. We recruit for the agreed arrangement and confirm availability during selection. Around-the-clock coverage requires a separate staffing plan.
Pick a baseline and review actual work: turnaround time, rework, accuracy and completed handoffs. Start with one repeatable process and use feedback to improve it. External research can inform the approach but does not guarantee a particular result for your business.
